Popular Solana meme coin website pump.fun experienced a major influx of Star Wars related coins on May 4th. As has been the case with 90% of launches on the site, most of them were rugs. But that didn't stop degenerates from aping in to such coins as "Yoda's Green Candle" or any of the hundred coins named "SOL Wars" and "Book of Star Wars."
One degenerate rugged by "Yoda's Green Candle" told us "I mean, how could you not buy a coin backed by Yoda's dick? That has massive green candles written all over it." Little did he and hundreds of other victims realize that Yoda's would be as red as Vader's lightsaber.
But it was not all doom and gloom on that globally beloved Star Wars day. The coin "Wif Vader" — a derivative of one of Solana's most popular meme coins "Dog Wif Hat" — had its moment in the spotlight when the community took over the project after the original dev jeeted his entire bag just minutes into the launch. The coin flirted with a $200,000 market cap before community members started dumping their bags on each other, never to recover.
It may seem obvious that these topical meme coins with a one to two day shelf life would almost certainly be a quick cash grab by their creators, but that never seems to stop millions of Solana degenerates from risking their life's savings into what they hope will be the next 1,000x.
